Okay okay, we know what you're thinking, “rumours of an AJ5, AJ3 and a SB
Jordan 4 Black cat expected to be released in one year??!” Well… probably not.
You see, colourways play a pivotal role in capturing the attention of enthusiasts and collectors and Jordan Brand has always been able to consistently strike a balance between introducing new aesthetics and reviving iconic looks and sometimes unfortunately the sneaker leakers get it wrong (or just a bit wrong). One such series that has gained significant traction over the years is the all-black "Black Cat" finish, which started its journey on the Air Jordan 4 in 2006 and has since made its mark on various other silhouettes, including the 6 and 13. With all the confusion however, we think it's safe to say we are getting at least ONE new Jordan Brand silhouette adorning the Black Cat colourway, which is really enough.
The anticipation and motivation for the Jordan 5 is heightened by a mock-up image shared by the two reputable leakers, offering a glimpse into the potential design. While a detailed description of the colourway is yet to be unveiled, expect a sophisticated edgy blend of black and very dark gray throughout the sneaker. The forthcoming Air Jordan 5 "Black Cat" is anticipated to be labeled as an SE release, suggesting that it will likely feature a nubuck upper. This choice of material not only adds a luxurious touch to the sneaker but also aligns with that sleek and stealthy aesthetic associated with the "Black Cat" series. The use of nubuck often enhances the overall texture and provides a unique tactile experience for the wearer.
As of now, we sadly have to wait and comply with Jordan Brands bipolar tendencies to be transparent and remaining tight-lipped with the public. However expect these to arrival in around September-October 2024.
