What is Story?

Story is a Premium Sneaker, Collectibles & Apparel Marketplace and Retail Experience, which means pre-approved individuals bring in their own supply of products for us to sell on their behalf. Each and every item is authenticated and verified to be in either new, unworn condition, or in acceptable pre-owned condition by our trained expert staff. All items for sale are clearly stated, new or pre-owned.

Whats the difference between Marketplace and Retail brands?

Marketplace items / brands are items individuals are selling in our marketplace. Story has no affliations to these brands, we simply secure the transaction between seller and buyer. All marketplace items are 100% authenticated before they are accepted into sale at Story. All market place items are FINAL SALE.

Retail brands / items are items Story is selling directly from the brands. Any retail brand item is legible for returns, exchanges and refunds as per our policies.

Are your products Authentic?

All Story merchandise is 100% authentic, guaranteed. Our team of expert authenticators puts every item through a 10-point verification system to ensure its legitimacy. Once verified, our items are tagged with a unique serial authenticity tag to ensure what you receive has been authenticated by us. 

Can I sell my items through Story?

Yes. Please visit us in-store or reach out to us at consignment@story.capetown for more information.

How do you determine the prices of your products? 

Story is a consignment marketplace, which means that we sell items on behalf of other individuals. The final determination on price is made by the consignor, but we work with them to help price items as competitively as possible.

All Retail Brands stocked at Story are sold at the MSRP given by the brand themselves.

Ordering

Can I make an offer on an item ?

Yes, absolutely. You can make an offer directly through our website on the product page of the item you are wanting to purchase. Once your offer has been submitted, you will notified via email with the result from the seller as soon as possible, and if successful, with a discounted payment link to purchase.

Please note - offers are only accepted on Marketplace Items and not on brands retailed directly by Story.

What size should I buy?

If you’re not quite sure which size is right for you, please make sure to get in touch with us before placing your order.

Why was my order cancelled?

An order can be cancelled for a variety of reasons. One reason is because we could not verify the payment details provided. In these instances, we invite you to place your order again using a verified alternative payment method. We may also cancel your order if an item(s) within your order become unavailable prior to preparing your order for shipment. For all cancelled orders, a full refund of the item(s) will go back to your original form of payment. Please read our full T&C's here

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

When will I get my order?

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING:

We currently offer three different domestic shipping options, delivered to your door with our courier partner. Shipping rates apply once your item has dispatched from our warehouse, depending on your location.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

We now offer Express International shipping with Fedex and UPS!

Import duties, taxes, and charges are now included at checkout to guarantee your total cost of the item to your country.

International delivery on average is 3-6 working days, however it can take anywhere from 5-15 days to arrive with you, depending on the regulatory authority in your country. 

All orders are shipped in protective shipping boxes or packaging to protect the contents of your order as best we can.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout along with any custom duties and taxes due for your destination country.

MARKETPLACE INVENTORY

What is a marketplace inventory item? 

A marketplace inventory item is an item we are selling on behalf of an individual seller who has consigned their item for sale through our marketplace. The majority of items we sell, will fall into the category and the refund policy will be specified on the product pages below the product description. 

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges (Marketplace Items)

Regrettably, due to products sold via our online and our retail channels being of a consignment and after-market nature, we are unable to offer returns, refunds, or exchanges of any kind on marketplace inventory items. All sales are final. If you are unhappy with your item, we are more than happy to re-list the item for you back into our marketplace on consignment to sell again, with the payout due back to you upon the sale taking place.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us within 2 days if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and do our best to make it right.  

Authenticity Claim

All items sold via Story are 100% authentic and tagged with a security seal with a unique serial number linked to your order. Please note, all claims against authenticity are null and void should the security seal be removed.  

RETAIL INVENTORY


What is a retail inventory item? 

A retail inventory item is an item we are selling directly from the brand. As we have more control and stock levels of this inventory, we are able to accept returns, refunds, and exchanges (brand for brand). These items will be clearly marked on the product pages on our website with the tag RETAIL along with the refund policy described on the product pages below the product description.

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges (Retail Inventory Items)

The aforementioned brands (Retail Inventory Items) qualify for returns, refunds and exchanges (brand for brand) within 3 days of receipt. In order to qualify, the items need to be unworn, tagged and with all original packaging. A copy of the receipt will be required and returned to our store for inspection. Please note, it is the responsibility of the customer to return the item to our store. Should a size exchange not be available, a refund will be issued within 10-14 business days to your original payment method. 

Damages and issues

Are Customs and Duties Included ?

Yes. All international shipments will include the required customs and duties amounts at checkout so there are no surprises.
